Support Small Businesses

12/14/2017

Warren-Boynton State Bank is extremely proud to offer banking services to small businesses in Springfield, New Berlin, Palmyra and Modesto. There are many reasons you should support local businesses during the holidays, and here are just a few:

Those who launch new businesses take on huge risks in doing so – supporting small, local and independent means you are supporting their family. Many entrepreneurs put their own money into their businesses and reinvest profits so they are able to continue to make improvements.

Many small businesses reflect the character of the neighborhood and so the relationship between the business and its customers is less about a purchase and more about other things. Small businesses are often a lifeline in the community by donating to local charities and nonprofits. There’s a sense of shared responsibility between owner and customer to come together to provide support to those in need.

Independent small businesses are run by people not a corporation, which generally have a positive effect on the customer experience. You have an opportunity to get to know the owners of businesses, which often means better customer service.

Small businesses bring new ideas and originality. This is where innovation happens. It means you have more choice.

By supporting local businesses you’re setting an example for the younger generation that they may realize their own dream of owning a business, or creating something new someday.

Small businesses provide job creation. In fact, according to US Small Business Administration, small businesses create two out of three net new private-sector jobs.

Furthermore, according to the SBA, small businesses comprise 99.9% of all firms, 99.7% of firms with paid employees, and 47.8% of private sector employees – that’s 58 million out of 121 million employees.

So, when you’re shopping during the holidays, eating out, or having work done to your home in the new year, remember to support small businesses.
