Summer’s here and that means school is out! So, how do you plan on keeping your youngsters entertained for the next couple of months? Well, we have a few ideas for you!
Springfield Park District offers a range of activities aimed at keeping kids entertained during the summer. Movies in the Park is a popular example. On Friday, June 14 you can see Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time on the big screen at Comer Cox Park from 7pm, on Friday, July 12 Mary Poppins Returns is playing at Rees Memorial Carillon from 7pm, Incredibles 2 is playing on Friday, August 2 at Henson Robinson Zoo from 7pm and on Friday, September 6 Aquaman is playing at Kiwanis Park from 7pm.
Admission to Kidzeum of Health & Science in downtown Springfield is just $3 after 3pm on Wednesdays.
Lincoln Library in downtown Springfield hosts several activities during the summer that will not only keep the kids entertained but also encourage them to continue reading while they’re not in school.
West Sangamon Public Library in New Berlin offers several free activities including storytime, crafts, and playgroup.
Kids Day at The Old Capitol Farmers Market is on Saturday, July 20 from 9am to 12:30pm and will include fun and games in the Farmer’s Market Mural Parking Lot at 4th and Adams.
If you're looking forward to this year's Illinois State Fair, Sunday-through-Thursday admission will be $5 for ages 13-59. The Fair runs from Thursday, August 8 to Sunday, August 18.
