DIY Father's Day Gifts

6/15/2020

Father’s Day is right around the corner. If you’re like us the occasion has completely snuck up on us given all we’ve been through the past few months. But don’t worry, we have you covered. Here are our favorite DIY Father’s Day gifts to ensure dad has a great day.

For the chef

If your dad likes to cook how about making him some chill infused olive oil? Choose a bottle that pours easily and combine dried chilis with olive oil. It’s as easy as that. Add a personal label for the final touch.

If dad likes tacos you could mix your very own taco seasoning and gift it in a resealable jar. Better still, how about homemade pickles for dad to enjoy at his next cookout?

Recipes for the above can be found online.

For the sweet tooth

Combine your gift and card by making dad an M&M bow-tie card. All you need to do is tie the center of the candy packet with string and fasten to a card on which you have drawn a shirt or overalls. Or, why not bake dad a box of cookies? This is something everyone in the family can enjoy making and eating.

For the coffee lover

Does your dad love a great cup of coffee? Well, if you have a popcorn popper you could roast your very own coffee beans! You can purchase unroasted coffee beans online and if these don’t come with instructions a quick Google search will tell you all you need to know.

For the gardener

What about a herb garden for dad? Our local garden centers are stocked with all the herbs dad needs for pizza, a marinade, or mojito. If he’s behind on the yard this year, you could vow to mow the lawn the remainder of summer.

For all dads

Whether your kids are youngsters or teens making soap bars for dad is a hands-on, fun activity for everyone. There are recipes online.

If you want to keep it simple you could make him breakfast in bed. Nothing says ‘thanks dad’ like a breakfast pizza with homemade dough and his favorite breakfast toppings.

Or you could make IOU cards, one for each month. You could offer to wash his car, rake the leaves in fall, take out the trash; all thoughtful, inexpensive, and impactful gifts that last the whole year.

We hope you have a great Father’s Day.
