Our Community

We are proud of our community and sincerely feel it is a great place to live and do business.

New Berlin is located in the heart of Central Illinois, one of the most highly productive agricultural regions in the world.

New Berlin is located approximately half way between Springfield and Jacksonville, Illinois on Interstate Highway 72. Springfield is the State Capitol and home of Abraham Lincoln and Jacksonville is the Morgan County seat. Both cities offer a wide range of employment, health care, tourism, cultural and retailing opportunities.

Community Unit School District 16 covers New Berlin, Curran, Loami and Berlin. CUSD 16 is one of the academically and financially strongest districts in the area.

New Berlin is also the home of the Sangamon County Fair. The fair is held each year in the month of June and is considered one of the best in the State of Illinois.

A public library district was created in 1999 and predominantly serves the entire geographic region bordered by our public school district. The library is headquartered in New Berlin.

Northwestern Community Unit School District 2 is located in northwestern Macoupin County and includes the communities of Modesto, Palmyra, Hettick and Scottville.
